It has a handmade hardwood ash handle blind slotted and attached to the tang and blade by a seamless ferrule and 4 rivets. It provides the furthest reach of any Woodman s Pal Tool and is used for underwater cutting in mosquito extermination and for all jobs where workers can or wish to remain at a distance from the actual cutting actions. The blade edge cuts through leafy springy vegetation while providing the perfect balance and leverage when needed. The special high carbon manganese steel used for all out bladed is hardened to Rockwell C47 which gives it strength for cutting and flexibility in cold weather. The Long Reach has an 11 ash wood grip; a 1-16 steel blade that is 11 long; making the tool 22 overall and weighing 15.1 oz. It offers the same legendary handcrafted quality and unique sickle hook.
